As God’s people striving to know Him more and more, we dive into His word. We attempt to extract the meaning from both difficult and easy verses and passages. We have been told that the context matters, so we try to understand the verses before and after the section we are studying as well.

We also dive into studying large sections, or the entirety, of books within the Bible. But have you ever stepped back to make sure that you understand how each verse, passage and book of the Bible fits within the narrative of the Bible as a whole? Do you understand The Big Picture?

This month, in the brief 14-day format of these devotionals, we will attempt to outline The Big Picture. From creation, to the fall, redemption and restoration, this study will show how the love of a good God is manifested in the greatest story of all: God’s story. And throughout God’s story, we will follow the promise of Jesus from Genesis to Revelation. This is a time of year when we tend to explicitly focus our studies on Jesus. Certainly Jesus, our Savior, is worthy of all praise and glory. But even His story fits into the larger Story. To know Jesus, we must know The Big Picture.
