What is the purpose of the Bible? Why do we have it? Perhaps it’s easiest to begin with what the Bible is not. It is not merely good literature. It is not simply a collection of wise sayings. It is not a scientific text book. What the Bible is, is God’s gift to us. The Bible tells us who we are, who God is (to the extent we can comprehend), it explains sin and its impact on us and our relationship with God, and the Bible explains our dependence on God and His plan of salvation for us through Jesus Christ. The Bible is God’s self-revelation to us, and is quite literally His Word.
But if we are not careful to read God’s Word in the context He provided, we can be led astray. (Not that it is God who leads us astray!) Have you heard the expression, “Familiarity breeds contempt”? This expression comes from the idea that the more familiar you are with someone or something, that their faults or shortcomings become more and more noticeable to you. With popular Scripture, there can be a similar idea where “familiarity breeds complacency.” When you have heard certain Bible verses for much of your life, and even heard other Christians “apply” those verses, you can run the risk of becoming complacent; assuming you know the meaning.
This month we will study several common Bible verses and explore how they are misunderstood, misapplied, and misinterpreted. We will explore how God’s Word becomes Twisted Scripture.
This kit includes a full devotional study booklet which includes 14 days of devotions. When you spend one day in the devotional study and the following journaling in your bible, this kit will take you through an entire month. Inside the kit you will find a 4x6 stamp set to aid you in your journey through your bible. Twisted scripture is gorgeous
Haven’t started this devotional yet but just looking at the colors of this kit makes me so happy. Colors are so rich and vibrant and scream fall! Love this kit and have been watching Mindy’s YouTube videos for inspiration!

This kit is absolutely wonderful. Learning God's word is number one. All the additional items make this a fun way to create art at the same time you meditate on the Lord. I am so pleased with this kit.
